NBA 2K24 MT Coins  MyTeam cancels auction house, makes major changes to rewards

The release of NBA 2K24 is only a few short weeks away. The team at 2K Games has been slowly unraveling what fans can expect, but today we finally got our first real look at one of the most popular modes in the MyTeam game. The card collection mode, like MyCareer, is the mode of choice for most players, and 2K has announced several major changes that could shake the mode's foundations in several ways. The biggest change in NBA 2K24 is that 2K has eliminated the auction house and moved items to the new player market.

But that's not the only change coming to MyTeam, 2K has also overhauled XP titles, which will allow players to progress in both MyTeam and MyCareer. On top of that, the token market is being completely reworked, and the salary cap mode has been reintroduced in NBA 2K24. Technically, we've seen salary cap modes in the past, but this one seems almost new and should make for a fun way to play online. Finally, the team updated the way coach boosts work to make them more effective. There's a lot to cover, so let's start with the NBA 2K24 Player Market.

How will the player market work in NBA 2K24?

In the past, the auction house was a way for players to buy and sell cards on the open market. One downside of this is that many players use the market to illegally buy and sell coins in exchange for real money. The new Player Market should eliminate this entirely, while also giving 2K the chance to make high-end cards more accessible. Now you can buy and sell your cards directly from 2K, which means the developer can set the price. For the first time ever, you can also now buy MyTeam Points (MTP) directly, cutting out the middleman of virtual currency.

Obviously, if 2K sets the price for everything, prices that are competitive in that model could skyrocket. Unfortunately, the player market is currently in a "wait and see" mode, as we don't know how 2K will price it.

It's also important to note that 2K has made some changes to the package as well. Best of all, you'll now see more equal opportunities and option packs, giving you a better chance of becoming a top player. Additionally, the team is launching a Prime Box that guarantees high overall cards and Hall of Fame badges. 2K also said the cards' prices will decrease over time, starting three weeks after their initial release. Additionally, the token market has now changed. Tokens are now only good for one season, meaning you need to use them before players from that season are gone for good.

2K is letting players grind XP this year in both MyCareer and MyTeam. However, that's just the tip of the iceberg, as MyTeam is revolutionizing the way you earn XP. In the past, you needed to complete Agenda Challenges to earn XP, but now you just have to play the game. Every game you play will give you XP, clearing the way for you to play the modes you want with your favorite players. There will be agendas that allow you to earn rewards, but you will gain XP regardless.
